Road Races

Liverpool welcomes the road races that take place in the city, often on Sundays - but they can cause inconvenience for those with Sunday commitments in the city centre. This page is for the bell ringers at Liverpool Parish Church for us to share how we can get to and from ringing on a Sunday morning without conflicting with the races. If you're in Liverpool on a Sunday morning for a race, please enjoy our ringing!

 Half Marathon

 27 March 2011, 18 March 2012 (9.30 am start)

2012 route is same as 2011 - starts and finishes at Queen's Dock, and turns off the Strand at (?) Liver Street. So disruption at the Pier Head should be limited to difficult access from the south.

 Mersey Tunnel 10k

Starts from Pall Mall - north bound access to Pier Head may be difficult.

1 July 2012

2011 closures - Derby Road and Great Howard Street (upper dock road to the north) closed from Bankhall Street (I.e. from Bank Hall station) but Regent Road and Princes Parade (lower dock road) open if joined at Bank Hall. South bound access along Strand closed.

Access to St Nicholas Place (Liver Building car park) difficult or impossible.
